Service sector provides 75 percent of jobs

The importance of the service sector has been increasing for many years. This is shown by the growing share of employees and by the total value creation. Three-quarters of all Nuremberg employees work in the service sector with its branches of trade, transport, banks, insurance companies, production-related services, household services and the public sector.

Powerful future-oriented services

Especially the company-related and future-oriented branches show appreciable growth in Nuremberg, e.g. business and engineering consulting, facility management, e-commerce, financial services and market research. For example, the viewer ratings for the whole of Germany are determined here and the concentration and quality of the companies based in Nuremberg make this the number 1 market research location in Germany.The first German market research company was founded here.

Nuremberg is also Bavaria’s premium location for service centers. The some 60 call centers based here currently employ a workforce of about 12,000 people.
