ARENA Nürnberger Versicherung

The ARENA Nürnberger Versicherungen, opened in February 2001, not only serves as an ice rink and arena for the home matches of the Nuremberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League DEL, but also as a stage for international stars such as Robbie Williams or Joe Cocker who performed here during their German tours. Depending on the stage configuration, the 1,900 square metre hall can house up to 10,000 visitors. The multi-functional hall demonstrates its versatility particularly when it is used as a venue for sports events, with sports celebrities such as Boris Becker and Michael Stich, the women's handball team of the 1. FCN, or boxer Sven Ottke and many others demonstrating their skills in the ARENA. During the summer months, the ice is left to thaw, and the area may be used for inline hockey. From September on, the ice rink is once again open to the public for skating.
