In 1996, the go-ahead was given for the refurbishment of the former margarine factory from the turn of the century near the Nuremberg North-East Station. "Resi" – from that time on was no longer the name of the margarine, but the name for the entire event area with its over 4000 square metres.
The multi-functional hall "Rock Factory" is part of this "Resi" complex. The old buttering hall from 1913 – a prime example for neo-Baroque industrial architecture- was completely refurbished.
The "Resi" may not only be used as a discotheque, but also as an events hall. There are three stages for live bands, depending on the spectator numbers expected, in the "Underground" or in the "Rock Factory". Two additional stages are located at roof terrace level and in the outdoor area.
The name "Rock Factory" defines the programme: styles include rock, pop, metal right through to dark wave and alternative.
