Spargelmarkt (Asparagus Market)  

The Asparagus Market on Nuremberg's Main Market Square is dedicated to the "white gold" grown in the fields of Knoblauchsland, immediately outside Nuremberg. The tasty vegetables are sold straight from festively decorated carts. Nuremberg's caterers and market stall holders offer culinary delights prepared from asparagus in many different ways. An asparagus peeling competition is the highlight of the entertainment programme.
