Whether beginners or seasoned runners – there are interesting courses of various lengths and difficulty for each level in and around Nuremberg. If you want, you can run around the Old Town, along the city walls. If you want to get away from traffic noise and car exhausts, running in one of the many city parks and green areas is a good option – along the River Pegnitz or around Wöhrder See Lake, or on soft shady forest paths across Schmausenbuck near the Zoo or near the Steinbrüchlein quarry.
The Nuremberg Adult Education Centre offers a very gentle running start for the completely untrained, with beginners' courses and Nordic Walking courses.
Six signposted Nordic Walking Courses between two and ten kilometres' length, run around the zoo and the former quarry, using shady forest paths.
There are interesting running courses of various lengths and difficulty for each level in Nuremberg. The courses are lit in parts and signposted with information boards.
Various clubs, private persons and companies organise over 20 running meetings in Nuremberg. The overview lists time, days, courses, meeting point and contact persons.
In its running meetings, the running team of the Nuremberg Clinics offers coaching for beginners and advanced runners by qualified team members.
