With St Sebaldus' Church, St Lawrence's is one of Nuremberg's principal churches. Construction of this Gothic cathedral started around 1250. With its rich furnishings – for example the Annunciation by Veit Stoß and the Tabernacle by Adam Kraft – it is one of the most important churches in Germany. The Nassau House opposite the church is the city's only remaining tower house.
