Nuremberg Christmas Market
TV and radio stations, as well as newspapers and magazines world-wide report on the opening of the Nuremberg Christmas Market. Each year, on the Friday before Advent Sunday, at 5.30 p.m., when the Christmas Market is solemnly opened by the Nuremberg Christkind, accredited journalists can use a special platform with good sightlines to the gallery of the Church of Our Lady.
Accreditation for photo journalists
If you want to report on the opening of the Nuremberg Christmas Market, please use the accreditation form provided (available for download from mid-September each year).
All media representatives may move freely around the Christmas Market – crowds permitting. We would, however, ask you to observe the police cordons and those put up to protect lighting and other technical equipment. During the opening ceremony, street lights and lights in the stands are switched off and lighting for camera teams is not permitted, either.
Please also bear in mind the technical remarks for media representatives during the opening day.
During the opening hours of the Christmas Market, media representatives may use the heated “Media House” located in the grounds of the Nuremberg Children’s Christmas Market. Internet access, as well as telephones and fax are provided there. Please simply register at the box office of the Children’s Christmas Market.
