European Union policies and legislation have a fundamental impact on local authorities and have a significant impact on cities. The decisions of the European Union are also becoming increasingly important with regard to the everyday lives of citizens. Against this background, European work at the municipal level is an important field of action, which is covered by two institutions in the Economic and Scientific Department of the City of Nuremberg.
EUROPE DIRECT Nuremberg
EUROPE DIRECT Nuremberg is a member of the EUROPE DIRECT network in Germany, which in turn is part of a pan-European network of centres operating throughout the European Union. We make Europe accessible to you and help you participate in debates on the future of the EU. The network is managed by the European Commission. You can contact us with questions about EU policies, programmes and priorities and participate in the dialogue on the EU and its benefits at local level.
There are currently around 435 "EUROPE DIRECTs" in the member states of the European Union. Our services are all free of charge for the participating citizens. What we cannot offer is legal advice or an interpretation of EU legislation.
The EUROPE DIRECT Nuremberg, which is located at the European Office in the Economic and Scientific Department of the City of Nuremberg, is one of those contact points of the European Union. In cooperation with the European Commission, EUROPE DIRECT Nuremberg aims to make information about the EU available to local people.
