Holger Felten and Rose Pistola illuminated the Kaiserburg | Imperial Castle in 2025

The projection onto the Imperial Castle, "HDGDL", was, for the first time in 2025, developed from the field of applied arts: Prof. Holger Felten, President of the Academy of Fine Arts, created—together with the team of Rose Pistola—a vividly colourful composition of metaphorical images and graphics inspired by pop culture and internet aesthetics. Large-scale projected typography commented on and contrasted with the imagery, engaging with cultural phenomena as well as historical and contemporary currents of the city. Unexpected twists and moments of disruption prompted viewers to pause and reflect—on love, on peace, and on what it takes to achieve them.
